The May 14th "Yappy Hour" was a huge success, raising over $1,200! The money will go directly toward supplying police officers with animal rescue kits. Thank you to everyone and their pups who attended and to Hula's Modern Tiki for a fabulous venue.

WHO SERVES ON THE TASK FORCE:
The Task Force was seated by Mayor Greg Stanton and is co-chaired by Councilwoman Thelda Williams and Councilman Michael Nowakowski. Seven members from the community were selected to serve on the task force, including business leaders, elected officials and community advocates.
THE TASK FORCE FOCUSES ON:
1. Creating a public awareness campaign addressing animal cruelty and neglect issues
2. Providing first responder training and tool kits
3. Introducing legislative changes to Arizona Revised Statutes and City Ordinances
Watch Signs of abuse or cruelty:
• Sores, cuts bruises or nicks on any part of the animals body
• Patches of missing fur or hair, flea or tick infestation
• Extremely thin body, limping/inability to walk
• Dogs left alone outside without food, water or shelter
• An excessive number of cats or dogs showing neglect
• Pets left in parked cars during hot weather
