The Phoenix Animal Cruelty Task Force
The Animal Cruelty Task Force (ACTF) has sunset - but the work continues!
1. City Council approved more clearly-defined language related to animal cruelty which strengthened the City Ordinance.
2. Funds were raised to create "tool kits" for use by Police to safely take in to custody animal victims of abuse.
3. First responders continue to be trained to deal with animal cruelty issues. Police hosted a training on Sept. 12 with the Humane Society of the United States, Arizona Humane Society, Scottsdale Police Department, Maricopa County Juvenile Probation Department and the Phoenix and Gilbert prosecutor's offices.
4. Two public service announcements were made and distributed to raise public awareness on the issue of animal cruelty.
Watch for this PSA on Harkins Theatres screens at Arcadia, Christown and Norterra locations Oct. 18-Nov. 14. Thank you to Harkins for supporting the work of our Task Force.
Thank you to those that served on ACTF, concerned citizens and everyone watching out for our animal friends who cannot speak for themselves.
