The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department operates several sports complexes that are home to national, regional and local tournaments, including two facilities hosting Cactus League spring training games, which kick off Feb. 23.
15th Annual ABC Charity Classic Feb. 23
This annual game traditionally kicks off Cactus League in Phoenix, where baseball fans have the opportunity to watch great major league baseball while supporting a great cause.
The game, hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department, is a charity contest between the Oakland A’s and Milwaukee Brewers to raise money for Kool Kids, a department program that provides free swimming at select city pools for youth ages 17 and under.
Last summer, the Kool Kids program paid for more than 100,000 visits by children to city pools to cool off and have fun. Read more >>
