City Hits Milestones on Facebook, YouTube

City Hall Obelisk with StarburstThe city of Phoenix hit two social media milestones last week, garnering more than 3,000 “likes” on its Facebook page at facebook.com/cityofphoenix and more than 30,000 views on its YouTube channel at youtube.com/cityofphoenixaz.

The city’s Facebook features more than 900 photos in 87 albums and more than 80 videos. Posts include city news and information, links to live online streaming of all City Council meetings and helpful reminders to Phoenix residents.

The city’s YouTube channel has nearly 600 videos, including half-hour shows hosted by Council members, news conferences and special programming provided by PHX11, which is available on Cox Cable Channel 11. Since Sept. 1, YouTube viewers have watched more than 108,000 minutes of city content, which is equivalent to about 75 days.

Mayor Greg Stanton, City Council members and individual departments also have their own Facebook pages, YouTube channels and Twitter accounts, extending the city’s social-media reach even further.
