Councilman Daniel T. Valenzuela and the Phoenix Fire Department invite residents to a free child car safety seat event from 9 to noon Saturday, Dec. 15, at Maryvale Community Center, 4420 N. 51st Ave. During the event, Phoenix fire technicians will provide free safety checks of child car and booster seats.
“Having a car safety seat for your child is the first important step. Making sure it is properly installed is equally important,” said Councilman Valenzuela. “Taking a little time now will give parents peace of mind knowing their children are safe on Valley roads.”
Recently, the Arizona House of Representatives passed a bill extending the car/booster seat requirement to passengers in a motor vehicle between the ages of five and eight, who are no more than four feet nine inches tall.
