Graffiti Busters, Sign Abatement, and Shopping Cart Retrieval

The goals of the Graffiti Busters program are to remove graffiti within 48 hours of receiving a report, help homeowners and neighborhood groups conduct clean-ups, and
promote a zero-tolerance approach to graffiti citywide. Services include a tool lending program in which any neighborhood group or Block Watch listed with the department may borrow tools and supplies to improve the neighborhood. Tools available include: paint rollers, buckets, hedge shears, hoes, ladders, loppers, weed trimmers, rakes, shovels,
water coolers and wheelbarrows. Garbage bags and gloves also are available.

Lead Hazard Control

The Lead Hazard Control Program helps homeowners, landlords and tenants in targeted areas control hazards from lead in paint, soil and dust. Residents must have a
low-to-moderate income level to qualify for assistance, the inhabitants must include a child under age six, and the residence must have been constructed before 1978. The
program is also a source of information about prevention of childhood lead poisoning.
