Valley Metro "Transit Now!"

The Phoenix Public Transit Department sponsors these shows, which provide periodic updates on what's going on in the Valley regarding mass transit.

Transit Now #22
This edition of Transit Now highlights the launch of the most changes for transit since the voter approved Transit 2000 initiative. These include expanded services, new routes, neighborhood circulators, and new Dial-A-Ride vans.

Transit Now #20
Each day, 254 buses move through the Transit Maintenance Facility. Oil changes are every 3,000 miles so that means a bus gets fresh oil every 3 weeks. After engine and brakes service, the staff at the facility check the upholstery, bike racks, wiper blades and a lot more. To find out about bus service in your neighborhood, call Valley Metro at 602-253-5000 or use the Trip Planner at http://www.valleymetro.org/Bus/

Transit Now #19
This latest show features stories on bike transportation rules of the road for cyclists on surface streets. Also, meet a man who commutes to downtown Phoenix via bike and get some helmet safety tips from the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Transit Now #18
This show in the series features Marisa Maggio Harelson and guests reviewing what's new in transit since the Transit 2000 initiative was passed in March of 2000.

Transit Now #17
This episode highlights how Phoenix is helping businesses, pedestrians, traffic and bus passengers navigate through the light rail construction. Also, find out how to save money with the unique Metro Max Discount
card.
