Belle Glade Library Branch, FL - Deadline: November 23, 2009
Palm Beach County's Art in Public Places Program is seeking artist(s) to assist in the design of site specific artwork for the new Belle Glade Branch Library. The selected artist(s) will collaborate with the project team to identify and design integrated, functional artistic experiences that immerse youth, families and caregivers in environments that promote learning and literacy.

New Media Sculpture at Visual Studies Workshop Rochester, NY - November 23
This call is for a permanent, exterior work of new media sculpture, a multi-screen showcase for digital and time-based media located in a small public plaza at a busy intersection in the Neighborhood of the Arts (NOTA). The integrated screens will be programmed with rotating works in film, video and digitally based media that will be created by a regional consortium of new media artists, curated by program directors at Visual Studies Workshop and the editors of their publication Afterimage: The Journal of Media Arts and Cultural Criticism. The artwork's screens will deliver this new media content to pedestrians during certain hours of the day and evening, but the work must function as sculpture when the screens are not activated. Suspended Light Sculpture at Village Gate, Rochester, NY - Deadline: Nov 23
This call is for a permanent, exterior sculpture with lighting components, to be suspended over a city street and crosswalk, cabled between two buildings that contain numerous artist studios, galleries, residences, shops and restaurants. The Work should function as a sculpture by day and a light work at night. It should create a sense of place, animating North Goodman Street with an exciting and visionary presence. Santa Fe's 400 Anniversary - Deadline: November 30, 2009
The City of Santa Fe’s Art in Public Places program seeks to commission a site-specific, outdoor artwork that will be a lasting marker of the 400 year commemoration of the founding of Santa Fe to be located at Ragle Park in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. The artwork must be large enough to attract pedestrian traffic and create an appealing outdoor public space. This is a two-step selection process. Interested artists/artist teams should submit their qualifications. Up to three finalist(s) may be selected and paid a fee to develop a proposal. Based upon the proposal, an artist/artist team will be recommended for the commission. All professional artists with past public art experience are eligible to apply.

The budget for the project is $150,000 inclusive of design fees, fabrication, installation, insurance, transportation, and all other expenses.

The deadline for proposals is November 30, 2009 at 2:00 PM.

Artwork for the new Louisville, KY Arena - Deadline: December 1, 2009
The Louisville Arena Authority, Inc. is issuing this RFQ to artists or artist teams to design, fabricate and install permanent artwork in the new Louisville Arena, currently being constructed in downtown Louisville and scheduled for completion in November 2010. Please note that information concerning the Arena Project, including architect renderings and a "fly through" video, is available (and additional information will be added occasionaly) by posts on, or by links found at, the Arena Authority's website: www.arenaauthority.com. Charlotte, NC – Deadline: open 
Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is seeking professional artists for design collaborations and/ or public art commissions for its Art-in Transit Program. Over the next few years, Charlotte is building a rapid transit system and will incorporate public art into its stations, park and rides, and maintenance facilities and has allocated $2.3 million for art. Design fees range from $5,000-$25,000: commissions rom $25,000-$250,000. In preparation for Phase I and subsequent phases, artists are requested to submit their materials to a new slide registry that will be used to make selections of artists as the system is phased in. The UCROSS Foundation Residency Program for the arts and literature offers residencies for 2-8 weeks. Located on a 22,000 acre working cattle ranch in the foothills of Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains, the Foundation provides individual workspace, living accommodations, uninterrupted time and the experience of the historic High Plains landscape to selected writers, artists, and composers working in all disciplines. TUCSON, AZ – Ongoing

Live at the Hope VI Art & Culture Partnership- the City of Tucson and the South Park Neighborhood have developed an opportunity for artists to live, work and contribute to the cultural vibrancy of the south Park area. An art and cultural facility has been developed from a pre-existing five-plex housing unit and is devoted to fostering and promoting arts and culture in the South Park neighborhood and surrounding areas. The center includes two buildings and an outdoor courtyard for classes, workshops, lectures and exhibits. In addition the facility includes two renovated apartment units. We are currently accepting apartment rental applications from working artists. Metropolitan Housing Corporation (MHC) is the facility manager of the complex and occupies an office at the facility. Call to Visually Impaired Artists. The Arizona Commission on the Arts is developing a list of artists who are blind or visually impaired for a future art activity. The different areas of art include but are not limited to paint, ceramic, woodwork, metal work, literature (writing poetry, fiction, etc.), music (writing, performing instruments, singing, etc.), theater, dance, etc. They don't have to be professional artists, but they have to consider themselves good in whatever they do. Art Supplies: Arizona non-profit arts groups and schools seeking materials for artwork can contact the Art Resource Center in Phoenix. The Art Resource Center is a non-profit corporation that collects reusable discards from individuals and industries and offers them free of charge to schools and other nonprofit entities for the purpose of making art. Items include fabric and fiber remnants, clay, containers, and art supplies.
