Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture
Other Programs and Services
The Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture (POAC) maintains a city-owned art collection of approximately 500 pieces, which is rotated among city-owned facilities. This collection dates back to the 1920s and is continuously expanding. The collection includes original oil paintings and watercolors, limited-edition lithographs and etchings, sculptures, folk art and photographs.
The POAC's Arts-in-Education Program encourages the integration of quality arts programming into school curriculum at all grade levels, through grants and special projects. The POAC provides assistance and information services to artists and arts organizations through public workshops, networking and individual consultations.
The POAC has a close relationship with the Arts and Business Council of Greater Phoenix, an organization that recruits, trains and places business professionals as volunteer consultants to non-profit arts organizations.
Through ongoing advocacy efforts, the POAC works to increase awareness of the city's rich cultural diversity, the role of the arts in enhancing education and addressing social issues, and the contributions the arts make to Phoenix's economy and quality of life.
