Community Arts Project

Grant Requests

Amount of request: Applicants may request up to 50 percent of the total project cost. However, availability of funds may require the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture to set minimum and maximum award levels in all grant categories. Project costs may include artists' fees and services, supplies, production fees, space rental, marketing, printing and travel.

Producing organizations: Funding cannot be used to support an organization's full season of artistic activities.

Matching funds: All Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture grants must be matched at least dollar for dollar by the applicant. For example, if your project has a total budget of $2,000, you will need to raise $1,000 to match a grant of $1,000. Matching Funds do not need to be in hand at the time of application, but your grant application needs to provide specific information as to where the matching funds will come from.

Partial funding: Due to limited funds, partial funding may be awarded to grant requests. In the event that a project is partially funded, the applicant must either raise the balance of project costs or reduce the project scope to accommodate the reduced funding level. A revised project narrative and budget must be submitted and approved before the grant funds will be released.

Project dates: Funded activities must occur between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011.
