The artwork’s abstract design is inspired by the agricultural origins of Phoenix, including the complex canal system and early agricultural tools used by the Hohokam to provide irrigation from the Salt River. The lighting centerpiece measures 20 feet by 7 feet high, consists of more than 140 pieces held together by 480 fasteners, and features amber-colored sheets of mica edged in copper with dark patina.
