General Operating
Support
Grant Requests
General Operating Support applicants do not make specific funding requests. Organizations supported through this grant category receive:
The percentage
used to calculate the Base Award is directly related to an organization's
budget size. The budget size is determined by a three-year average
of the organization's contributed and earned income budget figures.
The three-year average is calculated using the audited or reviewed
financial statements from the two most recent completed fiscal
years, and the financial information submitted in the "Current
Year Estimate" column of the Three-Year Budget.
Due to limited availability of funds, new organizations admitted
to the General Operating Support grant category may initially
receive partial awards. Increases in future years will depend
upon available dollars and cannot be guaranteed.
Off-Year Application Process
The Phoenix
Office of Arts and Culture has Implemented an Off-Year Application
process for organizations that currently receive funding through the
General Operating Support grant category. Every other year, these
organizations will submit an abbreviated application (see Off-Year
Application below). The purpose of the Off-Year Application is to
simplify the application process and to give funded organizations
an opportunity to focus their resources and efforts on developing
and pursuing new funding opportunities.
Off-Year Applications will not be reviewed by a grant review panel.
Prior-year merit scores will be used to calculate the Merit Award.
The Base Award will be calculated using the organization's budget
size, a three-year average of the organization's earned (Phoenix only)
and contributed income.
