21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant
After School Initiative: The Phoenix Arts Collaborative

Advisory Committee

In order to ensure the highest level of success for both The Phoenix Arts Collaborative and the academic assistance programs, a Steering Committee has been established consisting of representatives of the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture, ASU Herberger College of Fine Arts, participating arts organizations, the existing P.E.E.R. after school program, school administrators, teachers and parents. The Steering Committee meets monthly to develop a means of communication and dissemination of information that ensures the highest level of coordination and communication.

The program director's primary responsibility is maintaining open lines of communication between all of the partnering organizations and staff and the school site has a 21st CCLC site coordinator who has the primary responsibility of maintaining open lines of communication between the program staff and the school staff. The staff for the after school academic component is a teacher from the school staff. By using highly qualified certified staff, there are built-in lines of communication to ensure that the program goals are met. The other project staff includes teaching artists. Each of the project staff communicates directly with the appropriate school staff to ensure the highest levels of communication for program implementation and facilities management.
