Did-You-Knows

  • The air conditioning chillers utilized to cool Phoenix Convention Center are so massive they could cool an entire town of 1,066 homes.
  • Phoenix Convention Center's quarter-mile length on one continuous level is considered long enough to serve as a runway for a small plane to take-off, and land...inside.
  • You could play four football games on separate fields, simultaneously, inside the Phoenix Convention Center exhibit halls.
  • If you stretched the electrical wiring used when Phoenix Convention Center was built, it would reach all the way to the moon...and back!
  • There are 950 doors at Phoenix Convention Center that utilize 1,500 keys.
  • Over 400 gallons of paint and 660 gallons of cleanser are used each year to keep Phoenix Convention Center clean and shiny.
  • Symphony Hall has a resident ghost, Bradley, who is quite an arts patron. He patrols the catwalks and backstage area of the hall when no one is around. He has been heard on many occasions late at night when the hall is quiet, plus he has been known to raid the refrigerators of visiting performers and stars. He enjoys both the symphony and opera - but his personal favorite is jazz.
