Inspection by Phone

Requesting An Inspection
Dial 602-495-0800 from a touch-tone telephone. If you do not have a touch-tone telephone or wish to speak to an operator, stay on the line for further assistance. Operators are available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Before entering your request, listen for the word “NOTICE”. There may be important system changes indicated in the upcoming message.

  1. The first menu will prompt you through the process. If you would like to schedule an inspection, press “1”.

  2. The menu will prompt you to enter your permit number (without letters).

  3. The system will reaffirm your permit number and the address number only of the site to be inspected, by repeating it back to you. If the information is correct, press the pound (#) key. If the information is incorrect, press the star (*) key and re-enter the permit number.

  4. The menu will prompt you to enter your inspection code number (click here to view the most frequently used inspection codes). A verbal listing of these codes is also provided on the AIRS telephone line.

    The system will reaffirm the inspection code entered by repeating it back to you. If the code is correct, press the pound (#) key. If the information is incorrect, press the star (*) key and re-enter the inspection code.

  5. To request additional inspections for the same permit, press “1”. The system will repeat the steps to prompt you through the process to request another inspection. There is a limit of five (5) requests per permit, per call. The system will automatically schedule your request.

  6. Please wait for your inspection request confirmation number. Your request will not be scheduled until a confirmation number is generated!
    • To have your confirmation number repeated, press “2”.
    • To end the call, press “3”, OR,
    • Press “1” to enter another request for a different permit. The system will repeat the steps to prompt you through the process.

Canceling an Inspection

To cancel an inspection, listen to the voice prompts on the system, which guide you through the process. The steps are similar to the instructions for requesting next business-day inspections.
