Councilman Mattox serves on three City Council Subcommittees, one of which he chairs:
- Public Safety & Veterans Subcommittee, chair
This Subcommittee provides policy guidance on police and fire issues including recruiting and technological innovations to maximize the city’s public safety dollars and provide oversight of the city’s court system. Also, the Subcommittee will discuss issues affecting our returning veterans and recognizing the contributions of veterans from past conflicts.
- Transportation & Infrastructure, member
This Subcommittee provides guidance on issues related to streets, transportation planning, development services, land use planning, public transit, light rail construction, as well as infrastructure planning and issues such as water, wastewater, solid waster, WIFI and cable service and expansion.
- Parks, Education, Bio-Science and Sustainability, member
This Subcommittee reviews policies related to parks and recreation, Rio Salado, library services, education, ASU Downtown Campus, the Bio-Medical Campus including T-Gen and the development of the UA-ASU medical school, the delivery of human and senior services, the family advocacy center, environmental programs and initiatives to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and improve the environment.
