Councilman Johnson serves on two City Council subcommittees, one of which he chairs:
- Downtown, Economy and Aviation Subcommittee, chair
This Subcommittee reviews the overall development of the city’s downtown core including the development of the downtown hotel and convention center, issues related to the economic growth and strength of the city, the city’s support of sports and events related to sports, the continued development of Sky Harbor Airport and the Deer Valley, Goodyear and Phoenix Gateway airports and support for city international relationships, small business programs, equal opportunity and diversity.
- Public Safety and Veterans Subcommittee, member
This Subcommittee provides policy guidance on police and fire issues including recruiting and technological innovations to maximize the city’s public safety dollars and provide oversight of the city’s court system. Also, the Subcommittee will discuss issues affecting our returning veterans and recognizing the contributions of veterans from past conflicts.
