In the course of establishing or operating a business, you may realize the
need for a new or larger facility. The BCSC can be of special service to
businesses seeking development information about future expansion needs,
development costs, and city processing requirements necessary in obtaining city
approvals for development projects.
The BCSC is a function within the City Manager's Office, whose primary
purpose is to guide businesses through the development process with the least
delay. BCSC staff is familiar with the city's codes, ordinances, and processes
so they may advise and alert you to any issues that may require special
attention. BCSC staff also can serve as your advocate, should you have
difficulty in resolving an issue with the departments involved in the
development process.
The BCSC works closely with other city departments to provide you with
personalized attention regarding the following matters:
- Rezoning
- Zoning variances and use
permits
- Site planning
- Building permits
- Sign permits
- Information on fee schedules
and processing times
- Referrals for business
licensing and loan programs
