Success Stories

Progressive Insurance: The Ohio based auto insurer expanded its presence in the valley by leasing 165,000 S.F. of space within Allred Cotton Center. Progressive anticipates employing approximately 1,000 people within the first 3 years of opening. Phase I of the project, which will employ 400, is planned to open in December 2003.

Pacific Texas: This Phoenix based transportation & energy company, is developing a $1 billion, 800-mile pipeline to supply natural gas to industrial and other users in Arizona. The company will also install a significant fiber-optic backbone that will serve both pipeline operating communications and Internet market needs. Approximately 50 engineering and support staff have been hired to manage the project.

Safeway Regional Data Center: The Company is constructing a 53,000 S.F. regional data center within Deer Valley. The $8.4 million project will employ approximately 210 people.

Lytek: Lytek is an opto-electronics company that specializes in the design and manufacture of semi-conductor long wave vertical cavity surface emitting lasers. They are occupying 25,000 S.F. of space within Southbank and currently employ 20 people.

Histatek Genomics: Histatek partners with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and genomics companies to develop new drugs for the treatment of human disease and has developed a solution for the screening of client firm drug candidates. They have leased 3,000 S.F. of space within Cotton Center and will initially employ 12 people.

MOR Furniture: This furniture retailer has located a regional distribution facility on North 75th Avenue and is occupying 157,000 S.F. The company anticipates supporting three new retail outlets and anticipates increasing its presence in the Valley over the next four years. The projected employment at this location is 150 with capital investment of $1.5 million.

Waste Management: Waste Management, the country's largest waste hauler, located a call center for its regional sales and administrative services center on Peoria Avenue. The lease space totals 20,000 S.F. and Waste Management anticipates employing 120 people at this facility.
