Ability Counts Student Awards Program - The Phoenix Equal Opportunity Department’s Ability Counts Student Awards recognizes the
achievements of youth who have overcome barriers to accomplish their personal and academic goals.
To be eligible, students must have a disability and reside in Phoenix or attend a Phoenix school. Cash awards range from $250 to $2,000. To find out more, contact the Phoenix Equal Opportunity Department at 602-261-8242.
Arts in Education Grants - The Phoenix Arts Commission Arts in Education Grants for Schools support artist projects and residencies which
take place in Phoenix schools. The purpose
of the grants is to foster the integration of the arts into the day-to-day curriculum of schools and enhance the school’s current arts programs. For more information, contact the Phoenix Arts Commission at 602-262-4637.
Mayor’s Partnership Awards - The annual Mayor’s Partnership Awards recognize successful school/business partnerships. Award recipients are featured on News Channel 3 and Know 99

Outstanding Young Man/Young Woman of the Year - The Outstanding Young Man/Young Woman of the Year program recognizes the achievements of young people and enhances community awareness of the positive contributions of youth. One young man and one young woman are selected from each of the eight city council districts and receive $250. From those finalists, one young man and one young woman are chosen as overall winners and receive an additional $2,000. Winners from each city council district and the citywide young man and young woman of the year are recognized at a luncheon. For more

Focus on Results Grants Initiative - This initiative was created by youth and presented to the Mayor and City Council. It provides funding of up to $12,000 for activities that address the recommendations given by the Annual Youth Town Hall. Funding is available for Phoenix schools only.
