Special Election
May 20, 2008

• February 20, 2008 (Wednesday)
  Earliest day for City Clerk to accept request for early ballot. City Code, Sec. 12-904 (no earlier than 90 days preceding the election).
  
  
• March 6, 2008 (Thursday)
  Latest date arguments supporting or opposing propositions shall be filed with the City Clerk. City Code, Sec. 12-510 (not later than 5:00 p.m. on the 75th day prior to the election at which the propositions are to be voted upon).
  

• April 21, 2008 (Monday)
  Latest date to register for the Special Election. City Code, Sec. 12-106. (The election registrar shall not list any elector who has registered within 29 days preceding such election.)
  

• April 21, 2008 (Monday)
  Early and accessible voting begins at City Hall. Additional early and accessible voting locations will be available beginning May 5, 2008.
  
  
• May 9, 2008 (Friday)
  Latest date to request an early ballot by mail. City Code, Sec. 12-904 (no later than 5:00 p.m. on the 11th day preceding the election).
  
  
• May 16, 2008 (Friday)
  Latest date to vote early at an early voting location. City Code, Sec. 12-909 (not later than 5:00 p.m. on the Friday preceding the election).
  
  
• May 20, 2008 (Tuesday) Special Election
  A.R.S. Sec. 16-204 (the third Tuesday in May).
  
  
• May 28, 2008 (Wednesday)
  The Council shall meet as the Canvassing Board to announce and declare the results of the election. Charter, Chapter XIII, Sec. 1 (no earlier than the seventh day and no later than the fifteenth day after the election).
