When are the polls open?
The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Any voters in line to vote at 7 p.m. will be permitted to cast a ballot.

How do I find my polling place?

The polling place name and address are listed on the back cover of the Sample Ballot and Publicity Pamphlet that is mailed to each registered voter about five weeks before the election.

A polling place locator application is available at phoenix.gov about five weeks before the City of Phoenix election. You can enter your address and the locator will provide the name and address of your polling place and a map showing the location.

You can call the election information line at 602-261-VOTE (8683). For the hearing-impaired, call the Teletypewriter (TTY) number at 602-534-2737.

Why does my polling place change?
Every effort is made to make voting as convenient as possible and to keep the same polling places for each election. However, the same polling places may not be available for each election. We ask that voters carefully check the back of their Sample Ballot and Publicity Pamphlet for the current polling place location or visit phoenix.gov.

Voter Identification
Every voter is required to show proof of identity at the polling place before receiving a ballot. This is a result of a statewide initiative approved by voters in 2004.

ACCEPTABLE IDENTIFICATION

Following are the acceptable forms of identification that can be used when voting at a polling place. All identification must match the voter’s name and address shown on the Signature Roster. If the form of identification is acceptable but the voter’s name and address does not match the Signature Roster, a Provisional Ballot must be voted. See “Provisional Ballot” below.

PHOTO IDENTIFICATION – With voter’s name and address – ONE REQUIRED

  • Valid Arizona driver license
  • Valid Arizona non-operating identification license
  • Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification
  • Valid United States federal, state or local government issued identification

OR

NON-PHOTO IDENTIFICATION – With voter’s name and address – TWO REQUIRED

  • Utility bill that is dated within ninety (90) days of the date of the election. A utility bill may be for electric, gas, water, solid waste, sewer, telephone, cellular phone or cable television
  • Bank or credit union statement that is dated within ninety (90) days of the date of the election
  • Valid Arizona Vehicle Registration
  • Indian Census card
  • Property tax statement of the voter’s residence
  • Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification
  • Vehicle insurance card
  • Voter Registration Card or Recorder’s Certificate
  • Valid United States federal, state or local government issued identification
  • Any “Official Election Material” mailing bearing the voter’s name and address

PROVISIONAL BALLOT

If the voter presents acceptable identification but the voter’s name and address does not match the Signature Roster, the voter may cast a Provisional Ballot. The voter does not need to take any further action.

If the voter does not have acceptable forms of identification (one photo ID with voter’s name and address or two non-photo IDs with voter’s name and address), a Provisional Ballot can be voted at the polls. However, the voter must then return to the polling place prior to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day and present acceptable ID or present acceptable ID at one of the designated locations by 5:00 p.m. on the Friday after the election.
