Financial Reporting and Accounting
- Ensure timely and accurate billing for products and services; the proper recording of financial transactions; and compliance with legal and contractual accounting requirements.
- Assure compliance with all legal and contractual financial reporting and disclosure requirements, to obtain an unqualified opinion from independent auditors, and to provide management with current and accurate financial information that allows them to make informed financial decisions.
- Maintain a comprehensive set of controls for the Water Customer Information System (WCIS) to prevent any significant billing or reporting errors.
Financial and Resource Planning
- Develop rates and fees in accordance with federal and state regulations, accepted standards and practices and city cost-recovery policies.
- Provide long-term financial planning support necessary to ensure the financial integrity and stability of the Water Services Department.
- Provide water demand forecasts, water conservation program analysis and other analytical support necessary for water resource planning efforts in the Water Services Department.
- Provide analysis and ad hoc reporting capabilities for the Water History System and related databases.
Travel Accounting
- Audit and process all city travel, ensuring that the A.R. guidelines are followed.
- Provide customer service and communicate with all internal and external customers.
