SAFE DRIVER AWARD

The purpose of this procedure is to provide incentive to all Phoenix Fire Department personnel to assist them in safe driving habits.
Recognition awards will be offered to employees that have no preventable accidents involving a city vehicle for a specified period of time.
The awards have been divided into two categories: engineers and all other Fire Department employees.
The Engineer awards schedule for this category are as follows:
3 Years = Swiss Army Knife and Certificate
5 Years = Wristwatch and Certificate
10 Years = Mini-Leatherman and Wall Plaque
15 Years = Leatherman and Wall Plaque
20 Years = Sports Bag and Wall Plaque
25 Years = Presentation Helmet and Wall PlaqueDrivers of other department vehicles will receive awards for this category as follows:
5 Years = Swiss Army Knife
10 Years = Wristwatch
15 Years = Mini Leatherman
20 Years = LeathermanPreventability of a vehicle accident will be determined by Fire Safety Section's Accident Review Committee.
A vehicle accident is determined to be preventable if the Fire Department member failed to exercise any reasonable defensive driving options, has operated the vehicle in any unsafe manner or violated any procedures.
