A Community Inspired by the Richness of its Diversity
The Phoenix Human Relations Commission is made up of volunteer citizens appointed by the Mayor and City Council. It advises the City Council on human relations issues and assists in implementing the city's policy against discrimination. The commission operates or supports various programs designed to promote positive intergroup relations. The commission meets monthly. Martin Luther King Jr. Awards Program Committee
The MLK Jr. Awards Program Committee oversees the selection process for the Calvin C. Goode "Lifetime Achievement Award" and the MLK Jr. "Living the Dream" Award.
