Henson Village

Welcome to Henson Village! Henson Village is located at the site of the original Matthew Henson Homes near Seventh Avenue and Buckeye Road in Phoenix. The property was revitalized as a result of a federal HOPE VI grant. The outdated Matthew Henson Homes were removed and rebuilt and when the dust settled, a newly revitalized mixed-income community sprang up in Central City South to provide affordable housing opportunities for area residents close to downtown. The property boasts a Senior Living Facility, the Vernell Coleman Youth Center, Henson Park and the Emmett McLoughlin Community Training and Education Center (CTEC) among other amenities.
