Where can I get furniture for my apartment?
Goodwill Industries and St. Vincent de Paul have thrift stores where
used furniture may be purchased. Both of these agencies may have programs
to assist low income families and families in need of emergency assistance.
 
How often and when can I get an emergency food box?
A family can get a food box from the Housing Caseworker or obtain a referral,
once a month that can be taken to the local Human Service Center.
 
Does the Housing Department assist or provide any form of transportation?
The Housing Department can help with bus tickets for only those residents
that are actively looking for a job or needing transportation to their
place of employment. Persons that are elderly or disabled/handicapped
can be provided bus tickets for transportation to medical appointments.
 
Are there any jobs available?A Resident
Worker program is one of several programs available to residents of
Public Housing. Training programs are also offered that may lead to
full time employment upon completion of the program requirements.
 
Where do I get medical help for my family members?
The appropriate medical program is determined by the health plan the
family is registered with. If a family member requiring medical assistance
in an ineligible non-citizen they can obtain medical assistance from
Maricopa County Hospital or contact, Non-Legal Medical Resources for
assistance.
