Timely Rent Payments
The city of Phoenix Housing Department pays our portion of the rent every month directly to the landlord. In addition, because the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) participant’s portion of the rent is based on income, it is always affordable and the participant is more likely to pay the rent on time.
Free Advertising of Vacant Units
The websites listed below are one of many avenues landlords can use to advertise their property. Advertisement is free on these websites; however, it is the landlord’s responsibility to advertise any available properties. Eligible Section 8 HCV participants are referred to these sites. The links below are for your convenience and are not sponsored by the city of Phoenix. The city of Phoenix does not favor one advertisement method over another.

Limited Paperwork
All leases and contracts are standardized and prepared by the Section 8 Office and we complete the majority of the paperwork.
Free Inspections
In addition to the inspections a landlord may already conduct at their rental property, the Housing Department will send a trained inspector to the unit each year to conduct a housing quality standards inspection. The inspections identify areas needing improvement, helping landlords to maintain property value.
Tenant Screening
Landlords can select and screen Section 8 HCV tenants the same way they select any other tenant in non-subsidized housing, following all fair housing, state and local laws.
Friendly and Experienced Staff
The city of Phoenix cannot have a successful assisted housing program for low-income families without you, our Section 8 landlords. We are committed to building partnerships that promote affordable housing opportunities, and to providing our partners with the best customer service possible.
