Public Auction Tips

Tips for attending a public auction:

Please advance to item 12 for tips after the auction

  1. Come to the auction yard 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and/or Friday prior to the auction to preview the items.

  2. Register on the preview days or the day of the auction, view items and get familiar with the auction area and process.

  3. Bring a government-issued photo identification card to present during the registration process to obtain a no cost bidder's card.

  4. If you are a resale customer and intend to purchase items (tangible personal property) to be resold in the ordinary course of your business activities, please send a completed exemption certificate, Arizona Department of Revenue Form 5000, to expedite the transaction.   5. Review and be prepared to fully comply with all of the "Terms and Conditions of Sale" listed on this Web site and other published documents.

  6. During the May and September public auction come prepared for the heat. Wear light colored, comfortable, loose fitting clothing and drink plenty of water.

  7. Take advantage of the snack wagon parked inside the public auction yard along the north fence.

  8. Please note, we do not start the vehicles prior to the bidding or during the inspection days.

  9. All items must be removed within five work days after the auction.

  10. Sales tax will be charged to all retail customers.

  11. All items are sold on an "AS IS" and "WHERE IS" basis.

  12. We accept cash or cashier's check for payment.

  13. The best day to purchase the items is on the day of the auction until 2:30pm local Arizona time.This is the only day the cashiers will be at our auction yard.

  14. Once you are awarded the lot(s) use your no cost bidder card to pay downtown.

  15. Bring the bidder card to 251 W Washington St. located on the third floor of the Calvin Goode Building.We accept cash or cashier's check for payment.

  16. If you purchased a vehicle the title will be issued to the registered bidder name at the auction yard.

  17. Bring the receipt that is given to you from the cashiers to our auction yard to claim your items.

  18. Be prepared to show your receipt when entering the yard after purchasing.

  19. The auction yard will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. local Arizona time until the last day on Friday 2 p.m. to pick up items.
