Sale is to Highest Bidder by Verbal Auction
- Bidders must register at the auction yard the day of the sale to obtain a no cost bidder’s card. We request a government issued photo identification card, i.e. a driver’s license to obtain a bidder’s card.
- Dealers must register in the trailer located at the auction yard. Privilege (Sales) License Numbers must be furnished and verified.
- Items purchased must be paid for by cash or cashiers check made payable to the city of Phoenix. Items purchased requiring a title will be registered in the name of the successful bidder only.
- Items purchased for $100 or less must be paid for and removed the day of the auction. The cashier will receive your payment during the auction until 2:30 p.m.
- Items purchased that are more than $100 may be paid for the day of auction. The cashier will receive your payment the day of the auction until 2:30 p.m.
- After the day of the auction, all payments must be made at the Calvin Goode Building, 251 W Washington St, Third Floor, Banking and Cashiering Section, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The successful bidder must provide the official city receipt before removal of purchased property from the surplus yard. After the day of the auction, bidders can obtain their property from the surplus yard during normal hours of operation, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. (excluding city holidays).
- On the day of the auction, the yard opens at 7:30 a.m. and the auction starts at 9 a.m. The yard will close promptly at 3 p.m.
- All successful bidders have a maximum of five (5) work days from the day of the auction to pay for their lots. Any lot not paid for during these five (5) work days will be considered abandoned and disposed of at the discretion of the city of Phoenix.
- Lots which are paid for but not picked up after five (5) days from the day of the auction may be charged a $7 per day, per lot, storage fee. If these lots are not picked up after thirty (30) days from the auction, the material will be considered abandoned and will be disposed of at the discretion of the city of Phoenix. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE.
- Successful bidders may not remove items while the auction is actually being conducted. Equipment may not be started or removed until the auction bidding is completed for ALL items being sold. Items purchased will not be resold at this auction yard.
- The city of Phoenix reserves the right to reject any or all bids. ALL ITEMS ARE SOLD ON AN “AS IS” “WHERE IS” BASIS. IT IS EXPRESSLY UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED THAT THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO THE FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR USE OR MERCHANTABILITY OF THE ITEMS FOR SALE. ALL SALES ARE FINAL AND NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE.
- Awarded items become the buyer’s responsibility. We recommend that you pay for and remove your item(s) the day of the auction. Awarded items not claimed will result in loss of bidding privileges at future auctions.
- Appropriate sales tax will be added to all retail sales.
- All children should be controlled and kept off all auction items. Please do not tamper with items already bid on.
- We do not start, nor attempt to start, the vehicles or equipment prior to the auction bidding or during the inspection days.
- All contents of the lot are to be removed by the successful bidder with no debris or unwanted items left in the auction yard.
