CLERICAL TRAINEE

(Non-classified)

JOB CODE 00100

Effective Date: 11/92A

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform a variety of tasks while learning the skills required to qualify for an entry level clerical position. The initial assignment is of a routine nature, but as an employee completes a structured training program, assignments become more difficult and the employee is expected to use greater initiative and judgment. Assignments are received orally or in writing; instructions on and review of assignments are quite complete in the beginning, but become more general as experience is acquired. At the end of one year of training, employees should be eligible by testing or performance evaluation for entry level Library Clerk, Clerk and Typist classifications.
