COURT INTERPRETER
ASSIGN: LEAD

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

An employee in this assignment is responsible for all Court Interpreters assigned to the Municipal Court Criminal Division. Duties include assigning work; scheduling regular, full-time interpreters and contracted interpreters; contacting outside agencies to procure lesser-used language interpreters; directly observing and evaluating interpreters in court and providing input to the Court Interpreter Supervisor; and developing and conducting interpreter orientation and training programs. The Lead Court Interpreter also performs interpreting duties.

The incumbent works independently with little direct supervision and reports to the Court Interpreter Supervisor.
