DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Library Clerk I on assignment to Extension Services is additionally responsible for the duties of the circulation desk at a branch library. These duties include, but are not limited to, checking materials in and out, assisting patrons in obtaining library cards, consulting the automated system to determine fines or charges, and explaining library policies and procedures. The performance of these duties and the requirment for additional knowledge and public relations skills distinguish this assignment from the base classification.
