FIRE COMMUNICATIONS SUPERVISOR
ASSIGN: TELECOMMUNICATIONS

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Fire Communications Supervisor assigned to Telecommunications is responsible for the coordination, evaluation, and analysis of the Computer Aided Dispatch and 9-1-1 emergency communications systems. In addition to coordinating normal dispatch activities, responsibilities include working with contracted agencies which provide various lines, cables, and circuits specific to the dispatch and 9-1-1 emergency systems. Duties include analyzing computer generated statistics, evaluating data and microwave transmissions, performing system tests, and identifying potential system problems.

The required technical understanding of integrated circuits and the extent of research, analysis, evaluation, and testing responsibilities distinguish this assignment from the base class.
