TREASURY COLLECTIONS REPRESENTATIVE
ASSIGN: TAX AND ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE (T.A.R)JOB CODE 03611
Effective Date: 11/06N DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT :
The Treasury Collections Representative on assignment to Tax and Accounts Receivable is responsible for conducting the more complex City collections including tax collection, special property assessments, hazardous material fees, long term disability overpayments, and Dial-A-Ride collections. This assignment is distinguished from the base classification by the use of independent judgment, negotiation authority, extensive skip tracing, and knowledge of a broad array of City programs for collections and the Privilege and Use tax code.Assignments in the Tax Collection section of Finance require expertise in City tax provisions and incumbents may assist residents with simple tax form preparation. Assignments in Accounts Receivable require incumbents to negotiate damage claim settlements with insurance companies after the claim has been evaluated by Risk Management staff.
