DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to supervise and direct the procurement activity of professional and technical employees involved in the auto parts purchasing function. The incumbent establishes work priorities, trains and evaluates personnel. In addition, the Lead Auto Parts Buyer is responsible for processing special requisitions for emergency parts orders to repair accident damaged vehicles, and requisitions for parts for critical equipment such as fire trucks and landfill equipment.
