DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to direct and coordinate the administrative functions of the Mayor's Office and to ensure that the Mayor is kept fully informed on all matters requiring attention. The incumbent is required to exercise considerable initiative and judgment and must formulate recommended courses of action based upon research and information at hand. Supervision is exercised over a small professional and clerical staff. Performance is evaluated by a review of reports submitted, results obtained, and through frequent conferences with the Mayor.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Four years of experience in administration including one year as a supervisor and working with the public, and a bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
