CASEWORKER III
ASSIGN: WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Caseworkers III with the assignment Workforce Development supervise a One Stop Center which includes responsibility for a portion of the City’s grant monies tied to the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). Incumbents must demonstrate a working knowledge of Workforce Investment Act legislation, local program design, policies and procedures to ensure achievement of the Title 1B performance outcomes. This classification monitors and trains staff in preparation for quarterly state and federal program compliance reviews. Incumbents must audit files electronically and manually to ensure data is collected, accurately transcribed, and performance measures are being met.

The Caseworkers III assigned Workforce Development are responsible for the on-site coordination and delivery of services for Arizona re-Employment Programs, State Senior Employment Program, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Worker re-Employment, community college and assessment training programs, and community based agency programs specific to the area and needs of the community surrounding each One-Stop Center. Incumbents must work with mandated partner agencies to deliver services consistent with WIA.

The Caseworkers III assigned Workforce Development are required to independently develop programs, consistent with WIA and responsive to employers’ employment needs, using a portion of the Division’s money each grant year to ensure continued funding.
