The Librarian II on assignment as a Lead Librarian II would, in addition to normal Librarian II duties, be responsible for one or more of the following:
- Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates Library Clerks, Library Pages, and Remote Computer Terminal Operators;
- Serves as Assistant Branch Head, Assistant Central Library Section Head, or Assistant Cataloging Unit Supervisor;
- Coordinates the work of Computer Reference Service unit in the Central Library;
- Prepares original cataloging copy for specialized and non-specialized materials that have not been entered into the on-line computer catalog system by other libraries when assigned to the Technical Services Division;
- Solves difficult classification and cataloging problems, such as resolving name, subject heading, and cross-reference discrepancies in the public catalogs and local bibliographic data bases when assigned to the Technical Services Division;
- Perform duties requiring knowledge of cataloging principles and techniques, computers, and automated system capabilities when assigned to the Technical Services Division.
