The Parks Maintenance Mechanic on the Plumbing Installation Assignment is responsible for performing the large, complex plumbing jobs which require the installation of new, potable waterlines, vacuum breakers or plumbing fixtures.
Work may involve new construction or major remodeling projects. Some jobs assigned to employees on this assignment require permits from the Development Services Department with follow-up inspections. Possession of a City of Phoenix Plumbing and Gas Fitting Certificate is required within 12 months of appointment to this assignment.
This class is distinguished from the base class of Parks Maintenance Mechanic by the responsibility for new plumbing installations on potable water systems requiring certification as a journeyman plumber and gas fitter.
