PARKS EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to repair and rebuild mowers and other related parks and golf equipment. In addition to performing repairs and preventative maintenance, rebuilding component parts is required. Parks Equipment Mechanics run a decentralized shop typically under the general supervision of a Parks Foreman II or Golf Course Supervisor. The incumbents exercise independent judgment in determining the priorities for repair, method of repair and parts required.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Two years of journey level experience as an engine mechanic including experience in the repair and rebuilding of mowers and other parks or golf maintenance equipment. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
