DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

This assignment is responsible for performing specialized support functions in the Water Distribution Division. Assignments are in one of the following areas:

• Acts as a lead worker on a valve exercise crew, valve shutdown crew, hydrant repair crew, tapping crew, or meter change and repair crew.
• Works independently to locate and identify City waterlines for contractors or other utility companies.
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

The additional knowledge of the water distribution system and greater accountability of these assignments distinguish them from other Water Services Worker positions.
