WATER SYSTEMS OPERATOR
ASSIGN: LEAD

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The fundamental reason this assignment exists is to provide technical assistance in maintaining and operating the Water Production's central computer system called Supervisory Control and Date Acquisition (SCADA). Work involves installing, testing, cleaning, performing minor repairs, and making adjustments to computer equipment using the manufacturer's instructions. The Incumbent maintains SCADA system integrity through regularly backing up application and system software, historical data, and current database information. This assignment differs from the class of Water Systems Operator due to the additional duties of troubleshooting and diagnostics of hardware and software problems, and running routine operational programs. Work assignments are made by the Treatment Facilities Supervisor, Assign: SCADA through written or oral instructions. Work is reviewed for results in meeting the operating requirements of the system.
