PLUMBING/MECHANICAL INSPECTOR II
ASSIGN: INDUSTRIAL/PLANS REVIEW

Effective Date:	12/07A

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

Positions in this assignment work in the Annual Facilities Permit (AFP) Program, and review plans that are not submitted to Plans Examiners for initial review. The high profile projects assigned to the incumbents require code consultation and existing facility evaluation beyond the scope of the base classification. Incumbents do not report to an immediate supervisor within their area of specialty. The level of independent judgment required for projects in the AFP Program differentiate this classification from the base class.

Additional Requirements:

• Must possess certifications from both of the two disciplines listed below:

  Plumbing

  • IAPMO Plumbing Inspector OR
  • ICC Commercial Plumbing Inspector AND ICC Residential Plumbing Inspector

  Mechanical

  • IAPMO Mechanical Inspector OR
  • ICC Commercial Mechanical Inspector AND ICC Residential Mechanical Inspector

PLUS both of the following certifications

• ICC Plumbing Plans Examiner
• ICC Mechanical Plans Examiner
