DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

Positions in this assignment work in the Annual Facilities Permit (AFP) Program, and review plans not submitted to Plans Examiners for initial review. The high profile projects assigned to the incumbents require code consultation and existing facility evaluation beyond the scope of the base classification. Incumbents are expected to be proficient in every aspect of fire prevention and do not report to an immediate supervisor within their area of specialty. The level of independent judgment required for projects in the AFP Program differentiate this assignment from the base classification.

Additional Requirement:

• Must possess and maintain ICC Certified Fire Plans Examiner certification.
