DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform a variety of manual labor tasks associated with street and storm sewer maintenance and the operation of large and small vehicles and power equipment. Work is normally performed under the guidance of a Street Maintenance Worker II or Street Maintenance Worker II*Lead, under the direct supervision of a Street Maintenance Foreman II, but some assignments require working independently.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Completion of the City's Street Maintenance Worker Trainee program or one year of experience in street maintenance or construction work at the level of laborer or semiskilled worker. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
