DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Equipment Operator IV on assignment to Fuel Distribution operates the fuel delivery truck citywide. This assignment differs from the Equipment Operator IV base classification by the additional administrative duties and responsibilities related to the safe delivery of fuel. Incumbents write and submit reports to the Department of Transportation and the Environmental Protection Agency and prepare daily reconciliation reports and fuel site delivery repair orders. They must accurately calculate fuel levels to prevent overfilling and record delivery amounts for reconciliation. Incumbents in this assignment must adhere to strict federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to the safe delivery of a hazardous substance. Incumbents must know and be prepared to implement policies for natural disaster or catastrophe.
