EQUIPMENT SERVICE FOREMAN

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to provide first line supervision of employees involved in the service, maintenance, and repair of fixed equipment and equipment repair facilities of the Equipment Management Division. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the quality of fuel and for supervising the repair of the City's refueling system. Direct supervision is exercised over Equipment Service Workers I and II, and Laborers. The Equipment Service Foreman inspects work in progress and upon completion to ensure that it meets required standards. General supervision is received from an Equipment Maintenance Supervisor who checks work through results accomplished.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Four years of experience in mechanical maintenance or the maintenance and repair of shop support equipment, including some supervisory or lead experience. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
