TRAFFIC SIGNAL TECHNICIAN

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Traffic Signal Technician, Assign: Lead provides functional supervision of Traffic Signal Technicians in the absence of the Foreman. Some Leads assign work in the shop as a result of field emergency and non-emergency calls received over the radio, and monitor progress through to completion. The Lead also assigns equipment to Technicians.

The Lead position also maintains daily logs, including: trouble call logs, power outages, barricade requests, progress reports, telephone circuit problems, and equipment on order logs. The above logs are subject to court summons as a result of litigation questioning the function of signalized intersections. Some positions order parts, keep inventory and trouble reports and write specifications for the purchase of new equipment.
