DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Machinist, Assign: Lead provides functional supervision of Machinists in the absence of the shop supervisor. The Lead is responsible for reviewing and prioritizing job work orders; distributing assignments and providing technical advice and assistance in the completion of the more difficult and complex assignments. The Lead position also maintains an inventory of parts and materials needed to complete assignments; designs and fabricates machinery for various City departments; and ensures that the work performed is in compliance with standards and meets established deadlines.
