DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The Building Equipment Operator II on assignment in field unit 2 is responsible for either working independently at a remote location performing air- conditioning and heating repair and maintenance work; or assisting a Building Operations Supervisor in directing large repair jobs and ordering necessary supplies and equipment. This assignment differs from the base class by the lack of administrative program and supervisor responsibilities. This assignment differs from the class of Building Equipment Operator I by the additional responsibility for acting as a lead worker on large projects, maintaining an adequate parts and equipment inventory, and working independently in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a large, remote City facility.
